Thankful Thursdays #16

Hey everyone! I cannot believe that I have been writing Thankful Thursdays for the past four months, now. It is crazy for how fast time is flying by.

Every week I spend time reflecting on what I am thankful for. Feel free to partake in the comments, if you like.

  1. Since it was our Thanksgiving weekend, my boyfriend was off on Monday, so we had an extra day to relax together. That is always fun!
  2. My boyfriend also bought me a new mop, it works a lot better than our other mop.
  3. Yesterday my boyfriend and I tried a new ice cream flavour we haven’t tried before. We tied a peach flavoured ice cream. It was so good.
  4. Having a midnight snack with my boyfriend this morning. That was a lot of fun.
  5. Using my local library to put books from To Be Read List on hold. I’m super excited to start going through all of those books.

Sweet Potato Pie Latte

Every Tuesday, (sometimes I post late), but I talk about tea and I feature a different mug.

Although I haven’t tried the actual dessert before, but I have heard it is a big thing in the States to have for Thanksgiving. It’s basically sweet potatoes with marshmallows as a pie. I love the tea so I would love to try this.

It’s a black tea with a sweet taste from the marshmallows and the sweet potato. It has a nice dash of cinnamon to it. I made this into a latte, and added some additional cinnamon to garnish. It made my latte look extra delicious.

The mug I used is a Valentine’s Day present from my boyfriend. It says “I’ll give you the moon” on one side and then on the other side it says, “and all the stars”. It is such a beautiful mug.

I figured this was a great quote for Thanksgiving Monday. I really hope that all of our gratitude that we have had for today and over the weekend, will roll over into the upcoming week. I am big believer of expressing gratitude.

I really like this quote because it provides us with a lot of insight of how you should take things easily, and try your best to reduce your stresses.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Since I live in Canada, it is my Thanksgiving weekend! Not many things happened this weekend. My boyfriend and I stayed in and had our own dinner. We made a roast last weekend, so this weekend we had Thai take out. It was a fun time. We did the same thing last year, so it’s starting to turn into our new thing. This time since we weren’t busy getting ready, we got to watch a lot of football.

Like any other day, we express our gratitude and think about what we are thankful for, but this weekend we are extra thankful. Thanksgiving is my favourite holiday. Mostly because you get to express your gratitude, spend time with family and friends over delicious food. There’s no pressure of having to buy things for other people, like Christmas, or Easter, or any other holiday. The weather is perfect for sweater weather. I love wearing my cozy sweater. 🙂

It was nice to just relax and not have to do much of anything this weekend like we typically would have.

I hope everyone had a joyous weekend.

Making A List

Before my boyfriend and I went shopping, I made a list of everything that we needed. Although we didn’t exactly follow through with that because we bought more stuff than we originally planned.

I’m not one for waiting for the week before Christmas to finish my shopping I like to plan ahead and complete everything by Thanksgiving. That way I have more money around this time of year and I don’t have to cramped in a store with a lot of people.

It also helps me budget better too.

Today, I will plan ahead and make a list to help me prepare for my future.

Cranberry Sauce

Whilst I was at my grandparents’ house for Thanksgiving dinner my boyfriend and I tried cranberry sauce. I thought I would have loved it but maybe it is something that I have to keep on trying.

Giving Thanks

I was fortunate enough to spend time with my family and my boyfriend was in attendance. It was a lot of fun. I loved it! I’m glad that he enjoyed himself. He met my aunt, uncle, cousin and my grandparents. It was wonderful.

We had an amazing Thanksgiving dinner.

Today, I will give thanks for all that I appreciate and is grateful for.

Mannerism Is Not Common As It Should Be

Since Thanksgiving (well my Thanksgiving) is approaching one may think that this time of year is the perfect opportunity to show others their thanks and gratitude but instead it is the complete opposite.

No one says “Thank you” or “please” as much anymore.People should take the time to show someone how grateful they are no matter what. It isn’t difficult to let someone know.

Today, I will it be a known fact that someone’s effort is appreciated. Sprinkle your day with gratitude and love. 🙂 ❤

Butternut Pumpkin Soup

My boyfriend and I will be getting back into pumpkin everything! It’s the first weekend of Autumn and we didn’t do anything pumpkin-y. But I’m going to decorate his room (well our room) Thanksgiving and pumpkin themed for the holiday season. Although everything will be done in a nice organized fashion, of course.

I thoroughly enjoy pumpkin everything. I can’t wait to show him my pumpkin recipe book!! 🙂 I can’t wait to make this!! I will keep you posted.
