Top Ten Tuesdays #13

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

The rules are simple: Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want. Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to The Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.

This week is to honour America’s Thanksgiving, by expressing ten things we are thankful for. Even though I am a Canadian, and had already celebrated Thanksgiving last month, I figured I would write about what I am thankful grateful. It’s really beneficial to think and write about what you are thankful for.

This is in no particular order.

1. My family, and my boyfriend. Even though I wished I was able to see them more, but with the whole pandemic, we haven’t gotten together as much.

2. My friends. I don’t have many friends, which is okay, but for the few people I actually talk to, they’re awesome people. I wish I was able to hang out with them more.

3. Being able to help others. I love that feeling, being able to help brighten someone’s day.

4. My books. I love reading, and I am slowly reading more books from my bookshelves. I used to buy a whole bunch of books, and never actually get around to reading them. Which is why I have been spending more time reading them.

5. My tea collection. I enjoy making myself, and others a cup of tea, or even a latte (depending on which tea we’re having).

6. Sports. I love watching sports. My favourites are football, hockey, basketball, and baseball. I love reading about the players, the traditions, and superstitions. I love reading about the history of the team. I enjoy following stats about the players.

7. My room. I love my room. It has everything that I enjoy, my books, my tea, my mugs.

8. My laptop because I use it for my blogging.

9. My crockpot, because it allows me to make delicious soups, and pastas.

10. The ability to be comfortable with less – things, stress, debt. I am starting to understand the importance of feelings, and experiences, instead of being bombarded by all of these things.

I would love to see your list of things that you are grateful for.

Thankful Thursdays #11

It’s another week round up, where I talk about the things that made me thankful.

  1. Being able to declutter and purge through my things from my container. It is an amazing feeling. Some of the things that are in these containers are some of the things from childhood. And the rest of the things aren’t useful to me, but can be useful to other people.
  2. It’s Kick Off Night! Thursday Night Football is back. I love NFL, so I am quite excited that it is returning.
  3. Last Friday I got to hang out with my sister and niece, which was a lot of fun. I got to meet my niece’s friend from the playground.
  4. Being able to hang out with my boyfriend at an ice cream parlor, and tried new flavours of ice cream. That was a lot of fun.
  5. And lastly, I am grateful for my mini camping fort in my room. It is so much. It’s just a bunch of blankets laid on the floor. It gives me a new place to read and write my blog.
My niece and my foot. She really liked doing this. She’s so adorable. I love her!

What are you thankful for?

Thankful Thursdays #8

On Thursday, I had a busy but fun day with family, so that’s why I didn’t post any thing new, but now I am getting all caught up.

I have a lot to thankful for this week.

  1. I saw my niece (on Thursday), we got to hang out for a bit. She’s such a cutie, she’s 17 months old.
  2. I am happy that my boyfriend and I had a fun weekend, we had a little “camp out” in our room, and we watched two movies with snacks.
  3. I am grateful for being nominated for two awards this week. One called The Sunshine Blogger, and the other one was The Liebster Award. It is such a honour to be recognized by fellow bloggers and telling me how much they love my blog.
  4. I am thankful that my Grandparents bought me a cup of tea yesterday. I felt really fortunate to spend time with them, I don’t get to see them that often, so it was a nice treat to see them again.
  5. And finally the last thing I am thankful for is being able to watch all of my favourite sports such as hockey and basketball in the summer.

I would love to hear what you are thankful for this week.

Thankful Thursdays #6

Every Thursday, I like to reflect on what I am most thankful for during the week.

  1. I am thankful for my sister calling me the other night. We haven’t seen each other much since the whole pandemic. So being able to hear her voice was really nice. We got to see each other last Thursday so that was a lot of fun.
  2. I am so happy that sports are back. I really have been enjoying my time watching them. My favourite sport to watch is hockey. There are about five, six games on throughout the day.
  3. Since I am still in the early stages of decluttering (for once and for all), I have told my boyfriend that our coffee table and night tables are clutter free zones. I have been discovering that my boyfriend would dump his stuff there instead of dealing with any of it. But I still love him.
  4. I am thankful for my walk yesterday where I was able to read my book and started writing in my journal outside under a tree. It was a nice change of scenery that realigned my focus and inspiration again.
  5. Finally, I am thankful for the weight of all of my items that I have given away. I feel really proud of myself. The longer you hold on something that no longer brings you joy, the weight becomes even more heavy. It’s just better to cut the ties with these items. I am also grateful that I have no desire to shop for new things anymore. I used to be a big shopper a few years ago, and now I have no desire to go out clothes shopping. Although, the things I have bought for myself, were blouses, and skirts which I wear where I need to dress up. I also would like to be an accountant, but now the offices are starting to get phased out, from everyone working from home. I feel like that might become the new thing now. But I do love dressing up, so it’s not like those clothes were a total waste. It actually made me realize that I did have a lot of clothes. It gave me that extra motivation to depart with things I no longer wear anymore. Once you let all of the weight go, the more freeing it becomes.

What are some the things that you are grateful for this week?

Follow Your Heart

Today I called my Dad to tell him about how well I did at bowling and then we started talking about sports. We love sports! My favourites are hockey and football but I also like baseball and basketball.

My brain is consumed with football right now!

I enjoy watching and following sports. My boyfriend and I were debating about going to a baseball game next year. It something that we were thinking about but haven’t decided yet.

Today, I will do something that will bring me a step closer to my dreams.
