Your Message

I like to start the week off by sharing a positive quote to help us be more positive with ourselves, and whatever comes our way throughout the week.

I hope this quote helps others. I would like people to believe in themselves more. I dislike when I hear people who keep on saying they can’t do things, or they are scared to do something they know is the right thing to do.

We need to embrace ourselves, and trust our journey. Anything is possible. Just learn to not be so hard on yourself. Just go after your future.

Why I Started Blogging?

Five years ago, I worked at a fast food restaurant, and I had the best co-workers. They were always so nice and understanding. I loved that we all got along well. It made the shifts go by much faster. I would always be the happy-go-lucky person. I was happy to be there because it meant that I got to work with amazing people.

I would always send them my positive energy to them. I can tell some days they needed an extra boost of positive vibes. I was reading a lot of self help books at the time, because I felt like there was a void in my life. I was going through a transitional period at that time. My mama and I moved out of my childhood house and I was starting a new job. I was looking for a way for a new way to better myself. I wanted to feel more happier about the whole situation. After reading a few of those books, you can say I became the positive guru.

During that time I went to my friend’s mom’s writing workshop. At the end of the workshop we were encouraged to share our piece, if we wanted to. I loved sharing my words with others. I had rediscovered my passion for writing.

I would encourage my co-workers that we all should drink water with lemons or cucumbers since they provided many health benefits. I loved bringing in my water bottles with lemon and cucumbers. I had this water bottle that said “Don’t wish for it, work for it.” They ended up following my trend. It made me feel that my words and thoughts had a positive impact on others.

“Don’t wish for it, work for it.”

I had these daily affirmation cards and I would bring them into work and we would talk about it lots. I always brought positive vibes with me wherever I went, because you never know who needs it the most.

One day, I casually said I should start a blog. I had some of my self help books authors started with a blog so I had become inspired by their beginnings. All of my co-workers said that I should totally do that, since they can see me doing that because I am always a positive person.

My first blog posts were about the writings from the workshops. I later built on to some other topics about how to better yourself, how to be a positive person and how to reach your goals. Whenever I blogged about anything, I felt like I was doing something amazing. I was spreading positive vibes to others, and helping people believe in themselves.

I am so thankful for the people I have worked with and met on the way. My co-workers were always so nice to me. They threw me a surprise birthday party. They always believed in me. I am happy that I am still in touch with them, five years later.

For all of my fellow follower, how did you start blogging and why? I would love to read the reasons in the comments. 🙂

Glorious – Macklemore ft. Skylar Grey

I absolutely fell in love with this song. I have always enjoyed Macklemore’s music. And because he’s a Gemini, like me, it seemed fitting to have him for the last Monday of the Gemini season.

What I love about this song is the positive message he sings about. He is reminding us that even though we are going dark times, glorious days are upon us. It also reminds us that it isn’t too late to begin again. It takes darkness to shine brightly.

“I feel glorious, glorious

Got a chance to start again

I was born for this, born for this

It’s who I am, how could I forget?

I made it through the darkest part of the night

And now, I see the sunrise

Now I feel glorious, glorious

I feel glorious, glorious.”

-Macklemore ft Skylar Grey, Glorious

Positive Memories

For the remainder of the year, I am going to keep a jar of positive memories that has happened to me. On New Year’s Eve I am going to read off the magical moments that I have had during this year. I know there might be a lot of memories that you were hoping, but don’t let you discourage yourself from partaking in this journey.

It doesn’t have to be a jar, it can be a shoe box or an empty candle holder or anything like that. Feel free to decorate it as however you prefer.

You can write about anything that you made you feel happy or any positive changes in your life such as a new job, a new spouse, the arrival of a niece or nephew, or reading x amount of books like you wanted to. Anything that brings you happiness. You can even include the fortune in your future cookies. This will help you want to set amazing goals for the following year. Keep your momentum striving and always work on wanting to better for yourself.

It adds a bit of magic for New Year’s Eve and puts in perspective just how far you have come. It will be a refreshing way to end a less than magical year. Always continue to step with your best foot forward.

I have experienced this time after time. It doesn’t get any easier. It still saddens me and it hurts.

I try my best to stay positive but other days it’s difficult. I know the three C’s; you can’t control it, you didn’t cause it and you can’t cure it.

Always be supportive and loving.

Day 133

Today has been far the most productive I have had in a long time.

I have had a stressful week but I am slowly becoming more positive.

I am eating healthier, I’ve been exercising more and I have been focusing on me more. I feel great!

This week…

1. Continue to eat healthy

2. Exercise

3. Read

Positive Changes

Yesterday I had a cup of tea with a friend whom I haven’t seen in a long time. That was an enjoyable time although it got a bit sad about what we were talking about. That sparked us to be positive and think more positively about our situations.

I became inspired to have a positivity wall where I write quotes on a pieces of paper and hang them on the wall. I just started so I’m still in the process of adding on to it.

Lesson of the Day

Learn to embrace the positive!

Life Is Like A Flower

Whilst I was watering my African Violet – which just re-blossomed last week, I noticed that life is a lot like flowers.

Life is blossoming. If you allow yourself to sit in darkness dwelling in negativity you will never reach the light. It’s important to embrace the positive in your life. No matter how difficult that may be there is always something good in your life.

Drinking water is important.

Always look on the brighter side of life.

You will always grow through the hardships but you will make it.

Today, I will not allow myself to dwell in negativity. I will create something beautiful. For it is never too late to re-blossom.

Mariah Carey – It’s Like That

My boyfriend and I are watching Prison Break. I love that show. I  also admire Wentworth Miller who is in the show and in this video.

But my favourite lyric from this song is why I view this song as a positive song…

“‘Cause it’s my night
No stress, no fights
I’m leavin’ it all behind
No tears, no time to cry
Just makin’ the most of life”

No matter what you are dealing with remember, let go of the negative and embrace the positive! There is always something to be grateful for.
