Day 76

This is a lesson from Wednesday March 17th, 2021.

What bothers me is that my mom is convinced that she is able to accomplish more by doing some many things at once. But I disagree. I rather like to focus on one thing at a time. Like she would be reading the newspaper while watching TV, or she would paint her nails while she watches her shows. To me, I like things to be simple. So I like to do one thing at a time.

I feel like if we don’t focus on just one thing at a time, we no longer stay in the moment of what we are actually doing. To me, multi-tasking is a lie. I feel like the more we spend time doing more than one thing, than we aren’t being mindful. And then because you weren’t focusing on the task at hand, you think, did I do this? Did I remember to lock the door?

When you are working on a task, you should just pour your passion and stamina into that task. Don’t let anything else lose your concentration, or distract you from what you are working on.

Today, I will only work on one task at a time. It is important for our brains to focus on one task at a time. If we multitask than we not only jumble our thoughts and emotions, but we also lose our ability to mindful about the task at hand.

Minimalist Game Day 16

The rules are simple, you get rid of things from your life, either by selling them, throwing them away, or donating them. On the first day, you remove one item, and then on the second day, you remove two items, you keep on playing until it’s the end of the month, or whenever you run out of things to remove from your life. It is okay if you can’t make it until the end of the month. Personally, I would rather see items get donated, or sold to someone else. If you must throw something away, I hope it’s because it isn’t fixable. Even if you have removed three items from your life, you should still be proud of that, because it is three more things you removed before the challenge. But if you are able to complete this challenge, you would have gotten rid of almost 500 items! That’s a lot of stuff.

If you are participating, I would love to know what you are parting with, feel free to let me know in the comments. This is such a fun way to welcome Spring cleaning.

This is from Tuesday March 16th, 2021.

  • A box that had a bunch of tea samples in it
  • Five hair ties
  • Five bags
  • Three old lip sticks
  • A photo album
  • A photo album box

My mom likes to have gift bags, I, on the other hand, prefer not to have gift bags. I just feel like they are a waste space. So I gave her the gift bags.

I plan on giving my cousin the photo album. And I plan on returning the photo album box to Grandma.

The lip products are expired, so I threw them away.

The hair ties I plan on giving them to my sister.

Day 12

Hey, sorry everyone. I had a busy day yesterday. I was helping my mom out with her packing for her move. And before I helped I had made chicken noodle soup and took a shower before seeing her.

I feel like her and I were able to get a lot done. I was trying to teach her how it was important to pack like items into a box, instead of what fits. I feel from experience, that packing like items in the same boxes makes things a lot easier when you are trying to unpack.

Today, I will try my best to organize things as I go. I will try to keep like items together in my house. I will try to find a “home” for every item, as well. Whenever I am finish with that item, I will be sure to put it back where I got it from.

My Apologies

I feel bad that I haven’t been as active as I wanted to be, in the past few days. On Tuesday, I babysat my niece. Then on Wednesday, my boyfriend had the day off, so I hung out with him. And then on Thursday I helped out my mom with her packing. I’ve been really busy today, trying to get things done around the house, since I have been fairly busy these past few days.

I am slowly starting to get caught up with all of my posts. I have appreciated the love and support throughout the week. Thank you everyone! 🙂

Day 124 of 192

This is Saturday’s item.

My mom gave this to me several years ago, I thought I might have wanted to wear it. But it was the other day that I realized I didn’t really need it anymore.

Because my mom was also at my Grandparents’ house when I gave my Grandma all of these clothes. My mom went through it as well, and discovered how much she had like this “sweater” and put it back in her closet.
