Try – Colbie Caillat

I absolutely love this song so much! What I love about this song, is that Colbie is encouraging us to be comfortable with ourselves and that we don’t have to change a thing about us in order for others to like us. Nor should we stress ourselves out if people like us or not. What happens is how we feel and see ourselves.

“Wait a second,
Why, should you care, what they think of you
When you’re all alone, by yourself, do you like you?
Do you like you?”

-Colbie Caillat, Try

Day Seven

Let’s learn to have gratitude for our health. Sure, there are days that we may not be in perfect health, but we still have working parts.

Write about why you are grateful for your health, and if you aren’t satisfied with your health, gradually work on improving it. Perhaps you can start adding 10 or even 15 minutes a day working out, anything that allows you to move your body will do wonders. Start gradually and you will be more confident to do more in the upcoming days.

Every day brings new opportunities, so never be afraid to seize those experiences. But also, it is wise to make healthy issues too, like drinking some water, eating your fruit and vegetables — your mom wasn’t wrong.

Even if you are having a bad day, don’t forgot to find your gratitude and always be thankful no matter what kind of day you may have endured. Never go to bed without having a grateful heart.

I am grateful for my health because although I am prone to always getting sick, I am working towards bettering myself and my health by practicing some yoga, mediation, and trying to eat healthier.

Planning For The Future

Today I am planning for the future. I am finally deciding as to what is worth pursuing. I could not be more happy.

This is where the beginning begins for me. For the past I have been indecisive about what I want to do but now I am 100% certain.

I know that it’s best to stay present but at the time it is still necessary to prepare for my future.

I am ready for my future to start.

Today, part of staying mindful is staying in the now but it is okay to look in the future.

Do One Thing.

Every day you should do ONE THING that will better you. It can be a small gesture to a grand gesture. It can be a small step such as donating something that you no longer use to someone who will use it.

You can go for a run, clean up your room, read a book, do a puzzle, meditate, try a new yoga pose. You may even wish to journal about it. Anything that will improve your well being will be enough.

Remember you are enough. Never doubt that.

Keep your head up and embrace the positive in your life. Taking the first step may not be easy but it will be the best step you can make.

Maybe something you try is to cease a bad habit (smoking, consuming caffeine, gossiping, nail biting, etc.,) remember you don’t have to completely quit but see if you can go a day without it. You may even surprise yourself. You don’t need to wait around to gain motivation, just keep moving and you will find it with every step you take.

Today, I will challenge myself to do something that will better me. I would gain confidence in myself with each activity.

A Lesson

“Nothing will ever go away until it has taught us what we need to know.”

-Pema Chodron

The lesson that I am having difficulties with is to “Just breathe” and staying calm. When things become stressful I often feel overwhelmed. I am a people pleaser so I feel like everything has to be perfect.

I need to work on relaxing and accepting that everything will be okay.

Today, I will let go all of my worries and doubts and believe in myself.

My mom found this piece of paper somewhere in her room…

There’s no thrill in easy sailing

When the skies are clear and blue.

There’s no joy in merely doing that

Which anyone else can do.

But there is some satisfaction

Which is mighty sweet to take,

When you reach a destination

Which you thought you couldn’t make.

Leave The Past Behind

Even though you might have an attachment to your past, somethings are best to let go. We are not allowing ourselves to grow to our full potential if there is always apart of us that belongs in the past.

Sometimes we use the past as an excuse because we are afraid to get close to someone else since someone previously did harm to us or we are afraid of failing or whatever else we are thinking. Change your thoughts and you will be more at peace with yourself and others.

But we must let this go. The heart cannot fully love someone if you put your walls to guard yourself. By doing so you are blocking yourself from receiving love.

Learn from the past but never attach yourself to it.

Today, I will let go of the past. I will accept that people have hurt me but I should not let it affect my present. I will embrace new challenges and people in my life instead of limiting ourselves.

Solitude is Good

Today I spent the majority of my day alone. It was nice since the past few months I’ve always been with people. There’s nothing wrong with spending time with others but it was nice to spend time alone.

I ate all three of my meals by myself. Being alone gave me time to accomplish some of my goals like washing the dishes, going for a run, buying two new plants.

Today, I will embrace that spending time with myself is a good thing, there’s nothing wrong with it. It is healthy and is something that should be done regularly.

“In order to be friends with the world you must first be your own best friend.”
