Thankful Thursdays #27 – December 31st, 2020

I cannot believe this is the last Thankful Thursday of the year. But don’t worry I will definitely keep on posting this every Thursday in the new year. I really enjoy writing these posts.

I have a lot to be grateful for this week. I would love to hear about what everyone is grateful this week, and even throughout the year, too.

Here is my list.

  1. I had a lovely Christmas. My roommate made us steaks and baked potatoes, with a Caesar salad. It was really delicious. It was a fun night considering we couldn’t really see our families with the new restrictions.
  2. Disney+ released a new movie called Soul, it was an amazing film. It’s about discovering your purpose in your life. I loved watching that movie. I feel extra inspired to start the year off with having watched that movie. I can’t wait to watch the new series on Netflix called Bridgerton. Especially since Shonda Rhimes produced the show. It is based off a book series.
  3. My boyfriend and I enjoyed four days of watching football. It was even better, because our team won.
  4. I briefly saw my family for an exchange outside of our house, maintaining our distance from one another. I got a bunch of cool stuff, stuff I needed like body wash, a candle, money, and gift cards.
  5. Our room is all clean for the new year’s arrival. That is always exciting. 🙂

Thankful Thursdays #26 – December 24th, 2020

I have a lot to grateful for this time of year. I hope everyone can find gratitude in your heart. I would love to hear what everyone is grateful for.

Here is my list…

  1. One of my roommate is making steak and baked potatoes for tonight’s dinner. That’s exciting!
  2. I got to rearrange my room, slowly getting ready for the start of the 2021.
  3. By rearranging things in my room, I have more room for a dance party, that is always fun.
  4. My boyfriend has the day off work, so we are able to spend more time together.
  5. I was able to go grocery shopping, and found a lot of things on sale. That was exciting.

Thankful Thursdays #25 – December 17th, 2020

I can’t believe I have been doing this for the past 25 weeks now. I feel so much better about myself. I hope you have been working on trying to feel more grateful with everything in your life. It may be challenging, but it gets easier to think of ways to express more gratitude.

Here is a list of things I am grateful for.

  1. I hung out with my sister earlier this week, it was extra quiet since that was the first time her and I hung out since the birth of her daughter. It felt odd, because my niece adds so much joy to their house. But I did get to see her after day care.
  2. I helped my sister organize her clothes, and I helped folded my niece’s laundry, as well. My sister organized my niece’s clothes since she has been growing.
  3. In my containers of things I had at my own at my mom’s house, I found a lot of older shirts that I haven’t worn in a bit, It was quite refreshing to see them and wear them again.
  4. I found my older mugs, including two more Christmas/winter mugs, and my giraffe mug.
  5. Getting my room ready for the new year. I’m doing that by moving some of my furniture to dust the baseboards and clean the walls. I’m also finding a new home for some of my new belongings.

Thankful Thursdays #24 – December 10th, 2020

It’s hard to believe that I have been doing this for six months now. I feel like this activity has benefited me in more ways than one. I encourage everyone to express gratitude at least once a week. You don’t have to write it down, or type it out, even just thinking or talking about what you are grateful is helpful, too.

Every Thursday, I write about what I am thankful for.

Here is a list of the things I am thankful for this week.

  1. I am happy and appreciate the love and kindness from my followers by liking my posts, and having conversation throughout the comment section. I have gained another 100 followers in three and a half weeks, and I am now over 600 followers. I had no idea I was going to have this many followers when I first started out.
  2. My boyfriend and I have stopped having take out for a bit. That way we can save some more money, and eat more healthier. We have had a lot of delicious home cooked meals this week. I love cooking, so that makes me happy.
  3. I got to see my sister and niece today. She is part of my bubble, and our boyfriends work together, so it’s okay for us to see each other. We had a lot of fun together. My niece got her bangs cut, just beforehand. She looks extra cute.
  4. I got my last container from my sister’s house. I am so excited, because now I can finally go through my belongings. It makes me really proud of myself. I’ll be working through that this weekend.
  5. I got to play with my niece earlier tonight, she was showing me all of her toys in her room while my sister was making us dinner.

Let me know some of the things you are grateful for this week. 🙂

Thankful Thursdays #23

This is where I talk about all of my grateful moments throughout the week. I encourage everyone to do the same. If you don’t have the time or resources to think about you are thankful, you can still spend some time thinking about what you are thankful for.

Here is my list.

  1. Many of you may not know this, but a year ago today, I got hit by a car on my walk to work. I didn’t suffer any life-threatening injuries, not even a broken bone. I think about how lucky and how grateful I am for being able to not suffer from that accident.
  2. My roommate bought us buns and deli meats, so I made myself a delicious sandwich for lunch.
  3. I am grateful that I had the time to take a nap, since I woke up with a headache, but I’m feeling a bit better now.
  4. I got to watch a football game yesterday, which is pretty odd for the NFL to be on a Wednesday. Although I know there have been several games that have played on a Wednesday before.
  5. I am thankful for having motivation to make changes and better habits in my life. All in all I feel proud and happy for myself again.

I would love to know what you are thankful for.

This is something I have been working on and thinking about. It isn’t done yet, obviously. But I will keep everyone posted.

One Year Later…

A year ago, today, I was hit by a car walking to work. I haven’t even told many people in my family, I guess I just didn’t want them to worry about me. Not many of my family follows my blog, at least not yet anyway. I was extremely thankful and lucky that I didn’t die, or suffer any life threatening injuries from my accident. I only suffered bruises and a bit of swelling. Not even a broken bone. I think my Guardian Angel was my Great Aunt. I like to think that she was watching over me protecting me that day. I remember the last time, I had visited her, she called me her girl, and hugged me. I knew that I always held a special place in her heart.

If you would like to read the original story of my accident, although it may be a bit graphic for some readers. I tried my best not to be too graphic. You can read the original story here, https://threeyellowdaisies.ca/2020/05/29/second-chance/ The purpose of this post is to provide hope and wisdom to other people, and not so much of the story of the accident.

Now I spend my days trying to cram doing all the things that make me happy throughout my days, because we truly don’t know when our last day may be. I was able to start writing my blog again, five months after my accident. I first started this blog in May of 2015, and managed to write it for a year, and took a break, and nearly forgotten about it for four years. But here I am, back and better than ever. And here to stay.

I know that they are many people who lose their lives due to motor vehicle accidents every year. In Canada there were 1,922 people who died in 2018 from a motor vehicle traffic collision. (1) I am truly sorry for everyone who has lost a loved one from a car accident. My heart goes out to you all.

A year ago today, I am reminded that any one of us can die so suddenly, so let’s not waste a day, or even a second for holding a grudge, or hatred towards someone. Why waste a day, being anything, but happy? We should make every one of our days count for something. We should add joy and happiness in someone else’s day. The best part is that doesn’t take a lot of effort. When we make other people happy, it also makes us happy, too. It’s a win win situation. And sometimes people don’t get so lucky with having a second chance at life. So find something that makes you happy, and brings joy to your life. Life truly does go by pretty fast, faster than we think.

I hope everyone can use this tragedy as a reminder to go out and find your passion. Really start living your life. You don’t know what the future is going to bring you, so don’t let it pass you by.

A year later, I still feel pain from time to time in my right thigh where I got hit. I still get a bit anxious going out for a walk, especially at busy interactions, and busy roads. I have always been cautious crossing the street before my accident. And now, I’m even more cautious, if that’s even possible. I avoided having to do any obligations and errands for today, so I don’t have to go outside. It must sound a bit lame, but I just don’t have the strength to go out on the anniversary of my accident.

Getting hit by a car, really changed my life for the better. It gave me motivation to take over my life, again. I learned that I was too focused of living my life to other people’s standards, and not so much as to my standards. I was doing something that people wanted me to do. I even started studying accounting a few years ago, since people told me that I should be an accountant, because I was organized, had a good memory, and good with numbers. I learned that maybe, that’s what I’m not meant to do. And now I am slowly doing the things I want to do for myself. I found my true passions. In the fifth grade I wanted to be a writer, and right now I have been dedicating time to write. I want to add joy to people’s lives, by helping them see the good in themselves, and helping them realize that things do get better.

Throughout the year, other areas of my life have changed, my boyfriend and I no longer live with his family, but now we live with his friend and his family. I no longer work at that coffee shop. Not for reasons related to the accident. That’s just how life worked out for us. I couldn’t be more happy. I was working for someone else’s dreams, and not really have a lot of time to focus on my dreams, and what my passions are. Right now, I have been focusing on my blog, and writing some stories. That is what I am passionate about.

I see this day as a reminder to live my life, chase after my dreams, not try to appease what people want me to do, or they say to me when I’ve just been writing some ideas down. Even though the accident didn’t make much sense, like I always asked myself, why did that happen to me? Why did I lived? I really started questioning my purpose. I’m not working at the moment, but I have been using this time to work on what I am passionate about, which is writing. How thankful I am that I only ended up with bruises. Because I know, not everyone is as lucky. I am thankful that I still get to help others, and that I get to be here for my loved ones. The universe saw something greater in me, than I was capable of seeing in myself, and the universe didn’t want my story to end. This accident ignited a fire in me, that I should do something in my life. It reminds me to always find my purpose and happiness, and go in that direction, and not move backwards.

I hope that people can take away that their life doesn’t last forever, only their legacy does. It’s best not to waste your purpose by living someone else’s dreams. Go and chase your passion. Life is limited, so go out there and make something out of your life.

Thankful Thursdays #22

If you’re celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend, what a perfect way to spend time truly thinking about you’re grateful for.

Every week I round up and think about what I am thankful for. I encourage everyone to do this activity.

Here is my list.

  1. I’m thankful for catching up with a friend I haven’t spoken to in a little while. I’m glad he is doing well.
  2. My boyfriend brought me my container from my sister’s house. I am currently going through at the moment. I’ve been trying to go through my things. It is a freeing and exciting project. Not only is it allowing me to find a home for these items, but it is also a great feeling knowing that I am helping others by donating things I no longer use or need anymore.
  3. My boyfriend and I did some decorating around our room. We hung up my lights. It is over my vision board. I think it is really pretty. I shared a photo below. It says, “Easy Does It”, it reminds when I have a lot going on, I remind myself to take things slowly, even if it is just one thing at a time.
  4. I was able to go out for more walks this week, although that may be why my back is a bit sore, but slowly getting better.
  5. I got to watch two football games yesterday, which was fun, although those games were a blow out, but still entertaining. When I watched the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign Performance during the halftime show between the Dallas and Washington football, I came across a new singer, Kane Brown. The Salvation Army accepts donations to help out those less fortunate. I really enjoyed his music performance.

Thankful Thursdays #21

I feel that this has been a wonderful week, and I am thankful for the events that have happened.

I hope you spend some time, thinking and expressing gratitude for the things that has happened this week.

  1. I have had time to have readathons throughout the week. That is where I have been able to finish some of my books.
  2. I spent the majority of Monday cleaning and tidying my room. Cleaning always helps me feel better, and more relaxed.
  3. Yesterday my boyfriend and I watched a romantic movie together. We watched The Longest Ride, again. I was inspired by writing about it in my blog on Tuesday. It’s such a great movie. It’s one of my favourite Nicholas Sparks movie and book.
  4. I found my favourite chocolate bar in my snack box, I thought I had ate it a few weeks ago. I found it at the perfect time since that was our mini snack for the movie.
  5. Got my inspiration to finish what appears to be a neglected story right now. I felt uninspired to write it. It’s called Unimaginable Treasure. It’s about the importance and benefits of decluttering. So I apologize for those that have been patiently waiting for chapter three. In the meantime, you can catch up, or read it for the first time, here https://threeyellowdaisies.ca/category/unimaginable-treasure/ I appreciate any feedback, if you have any. 🙂

Thankful Thursday #20

Thankful Thursday #19

Hey everyone! Welcome to another edition of Thankful Thursday!

This is where I round up all of the things I am thankful for throughout the week. I encourage you all to take a few minutes, to really think about what you are grateful during this this week.

  1. My boyfriend and I spent a lot of time over the weekend watching horror movies, and football. Which are two of my favourite things to watch.
  2. I got to babysit my niece while my sister got her hair done.
  3. These past few days, and the upcoming weekend is going to be beautiful – nice and warm. Normally we are experiencing cool, cloudy days, so these are great days to enjoy outside before the snow comes.
  4. I’m glad my boyfriend is feeling better, the past two days he wasn’t feeling well, none of which are covid-19 symptoms related.
  5. Because he wasn’t feeling well, he didn’t go to work, which gave us some extra time to hang out. I got to take care of him.

I would love to know what everyone is thankful for.
