It’s another Monday, which means it’s another Music Monday!
The song I have picked is Beautiful by Christina Aguilera. What I love about this song is that it inspires others to not listen to what other people say about them, because everyone is beautiful in their own way. When I was younger, I always admired her voice, and now that I am much older, I can appreciate the message and the meaning even more now.
Another thing that I like about this video, is that she showcases a positive light on several topics before they were first mentioned, like a gothic look, same sex couples. Considering this video came in 2002, it brought forth a lot of recognition of these topics. I appreciate Christina coming forward and bringing awareness that everyone is human, and beautiful. We shouldn’t let others bring us down.
“I am beautiful no matter what they say
-Christina Aguilera, Beautiful
Words can’t bring me down
I am beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can’t bring me down, oh no
So don’t you bring me down today”
I liked Christina’s black streaks in her hair because I thought it gave her an edge!

Yeah, me, too. I think she was very pretty in this video. She still is. 😊

She aged well and her voice got better overtime, which not many artists can say!

Yes, I agree. I liked how she also used her songs, and music videos to talk about important issues. The video for Beautiful was from 2002, which was long before same sex marriages was even legalized. I really liked that she put forth inspiring and meaningful topics throughout her music career. 🙂

Shoot that’s the only music video of hers that I know was different. She is an inspiration though!

I really like listening to her. 🙂

That’s cool! What’s your favorite song by her?

I love all of them, but I like Ain’t No Other Man, Candyman, Can’t Hold Us Down, and Come On Over. What about you?

Wow, that’s a lot more songs than I know. “Reflection,” “Beautiful,” and “Genie in the Bottle” are the main ones I know. Oh unless her cover of “Something’s Got a Hold on Me” counts?

I like those songs, too! I love all of her songs. It’s too hard to think of just one! 🙂

I really admire how you like a lot of female artists. I don’t listen to many female artists nowadays.

Thank you so much! And I know right. I have featured a lot different female artists. Feel free to check out some of my music I listen, too.

Ahhh looking at your posts so far, you love uplifting songs with positive messages and songs that are fun to dance to! Am I right?

Yeah, those songs are always fun! I like listening to songs that are going to PUMP ME UP! But I like all genres of music, to be honest! What do you like?

I read your posts about The Wanted and “#ThatPower” and it took me back to my high school days. I had a friend who was obsessed with them and I got hooked as well! Nathan was my favorite member lol. “#ThatPower” is a bop! Good for you that you listen to positive music, I’ve always emphasized that music can really affect one’s mood.
I’ve been heading into the rock genre with AC/DC, Def Leppard, Metallica, and Iron Maiden. But I still love my One Direction and old Justin Bieber classics! Oh and I got into Backstreet Boys over the summer too!
Do you like boybands?

That’s awesome! I have always loved listening to positive music, especially when I clean, and do my chores.
Yes, I agree that music has the power to contribute to our feelings, and it has the power to change how we feel.
I enjoy boy bands, too.
I have been interested in country music as of lately. That’s what I have been in the mood for.

Music always makes chores fun! 🙂
Absolutely right about music changing how we feel. I used to listen to a lot of sad breakup songs in high school and that had a negative impact on me. So I’ve learned to steer away towards those songs.
I know you like The Wanted, but who else do you like? Btw, my favorite song by The Wanted is “Last to Know.”
Ah country music nice.

My favourite song from the Wanted is Glad You Came.
I listen to all kinds of music! I love listening to Avril Lavigne, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Aleesia, Hilary Duff, Lana Del Rey, Jessica Simpson, Ashlee Simpson, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Drake, Justin Timberlake, G-Eazy, Chris Lane, Mariana’s Trench to name a few.
What about you? Who else do you like to listen to?

“Glad You Came” is a classic and I feel so bad for what Tom’s going through, despite not listening to them much nowadays.
Oh Hilary Duff? Nice! I don’t listen to her much but I like that song she sang in the movie, ‘Raise Your Voice.’ I think it’s called “Someone’s Watching Over Me.”
Besides the one I mentioned, I love Disney music!

Yeah, it’s really sad what Tom is going through. It is a reminder that the time we have left is limited, and we should be kind to others. We should do things that make us happy. We never realize how fast time really goes by.
Did you hear that Disney Plus is releasing a bunch of new shows and movies in the upcoming years? I can’t wait to hear all of those cool new music. 🙂

He’s not dying though right? He can survive that illness, hopefully! But true, you never know what life might throw at year!
Oh is that what they’re doing with Disney+? That sounds awesome! Unfortunately, I do not have Disney+ and I don’t plan on it because I want to save up for concerts lol! What do you watch on there?

It’s hard to say, because the cancer he has, is very aggressive, which makes it very resistant for the drugs and treatment plan to be effective.
Doctors are saying they cannot surgically remove the tumor. But he is optimistic that he will fight this. There have been some people who has had this type of brain tumor, and still live for another 5, 10, even 15 years.
I like rewatching all of the shows and movies I grew up with, so it varies from Recess, Proud Family, Lilo and Stitch, Lizzie McGuire, That’s So Raven. Pretty much anything from the early 2000s are my favourite.

Dang, according to Wikipedia, “The typical duration of survival following diagnosis is 12 to 15 months, with fewer than 3 to 7% of people surviving longer than five years.” If he can live 15 years longer or more, that’d be great!
Tom always had a smile on his face and he seemed like fun individual! I used to watch ‘The Wanted Life’ and I was sad when they only had one season.
OMG Recess, Proud Family, Lilo and Stitch. Lizzie McGuire, I’m so jealous! Wait so even the Lizzie McGuire movie??

Yeah, it’s really sad about what Tom is going through. But he says he is going to fight this with all that he has.
I haven’t seen the Lizzie McGuire movie in a long time, but I’ll get there! 🙂

I hope he’ll be alright!
Still mad at Spotify for not including “What Dreams Are Made of” on there! That song is a banger!

Me, too! He is my favourite one from the band.
And yes, that is such a great song!

My favorite is Nathan, but Tom would be my second favorite!
The movie overall is great, but I’m still confused on when the movie takes place in Lizzie McGuire universe, would this be before they go to high school or after they graduate high school?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yeah, I wondered that, too. Although I think the movie happens during their show universe. I’m going to check it out one day.

According to Wikipedia, the movie takes place around the time she graduates from junior high. But yeah I don’t know, cause in the end of the movie, Lizzie and Gordo get together. But I forgot if they were a couple on the show or not.

Oh, yeah, that’s true. I’m not sure either.
