“Never to suffer would never to have been blessed.”
-Edgar Allan Poe

Don’t let your faults or your struggles bring you down. In time you will realize that it was during those times that gave you your strength. Never give up! For if you do, you’ll miss out on your blessings

I have been putting off organizing my recipe binder for many years now. But after I finish decluttering and organizing my room I will then organize my kitchen.

My mama has saved many recipes from newspapers. I was going to leave her the originals and write out those recipes and place them into a binder.

I plan on organizing them by breakfast, lunch, dinner, appetizers and desserts.

When I visiting my grandparents I discovered that my grandparents hasn’t saved up any of their recipes from over the years. It makes me sad because my grandparents were amazing cooks. They cooked anything from soups to roast beef to cherry cheesecake and anything in between.

Today, I will no longer put anything off instead I will make today the day!

Fried Bananas

My boyfriend and I made this for dessert during Friday Family Fun Night.

Ours didn’t turn out the way it was supposed to be but it was still good.

1. Peel and chop slightly under-ripen bananas.
2. Heat skillet with coconut oil or olive oil.
*We used coconut oil just to give it a more tropical taste
3. Once oil heated add banana slices
*My boyfriend messed this part up because I was placing them down and spreading them out, he decided to save time and empty all of the bananas into the skillet at once.
4. Meanwhile in a bowl add honey and water. Whisk together.
*Since there were five of us we used six bananas, three tablespoons of honey and water
5. Remove from heat add mixture and then sprinkle some cinnamon on top.

Easy Does It

I’m slowly adding changes in my life. I know that I can’t expect most of these changes overnight instead I have to work for it.

Something that I tell myself is “Easy does it.” This means a lot more than what it seems. It means don’t overwhelm yourself and baby step it if you need to.

Today, I will take small steps towards my goals. I will not be disappointed or see myself a “failure” if my goals aren’t accomplished overnight. I will meet my goals as long as I don’t give up and keep my head up.

No Expectations

“Expectations are the roots to heartache.”

I have learnt from several of people that having expectations is what causes heartache. I have a tendency to expect things from people but I only end up disappointed.

When I look at people I see their potential and whenever they don’t meet their potential that’s when I become upset time after time.

One of my former best friends repeated to himself “No expectations. Neither good nor bad.”

Today, I will not have expectations for things or people neither good nor bad.
